Detailed course information

Full course brief

JPA is the most-used and least-understood layer of the Java stack. Everyone ships it; almost nobody can say when the SQL actually runs, why the update saved without save(), or where the four hundred extra queries came from.

This week is the opened black box. The SQL log stays visible in every session, and every claim about Hibernate's behaviour is proved in it.

Who this is for

You need a working Spring Boot API — the depth taught in Spring Boot REST API, whose project this week picks up and gives a real persistence layer.

Where it leads

Straight into Spring Security on the Full-Stack Developer — Java and Backend Developer — Java pathways.
